ANALOGUE ELECTRONICS (LEVEL 2)

OBJECTIVES

  • Select the Butterworth, Bessel, Tchebyscheff or Cauer filter to solve a filtering problem in the best possible way
  • Use transfer function tables to synthesise an N-order filter (based on 1st‑order and 2nd‑order cells)
  • Identify oscillators in a diagram and calculate their frequencies

– Study of a component and synthesis of a filter
• Relaxation oscillators:

• Resonant oscillators:
– Resonance principle, oscillation condition
– Hartley and Colpitts oscillators
• Numerical generators:
– Principle of operation
– Architecture of arbitrary waveform generators
